When you first login to Plesk, you are taken to the Client Level. You will see 4 buttons towards the top and you will also see your domain list (normally just the one when you login for the first time). There will also be a Log Out buttom in the top right hand corner of every page in your control panel. In the client level you manage your contact details and you can view your account limits and what you are using. You can also brand your control panel with your own logo and set up domain templates to aid you in setting up new accounts.
NAVIGATING PLESK

When navigating through your Plesk control panel, do not use your browser's back button. On the top right of every page, you will see an Up Level button. Clicking this will take you to the next level up in the control panel. Whenever you have made a change in Plesk, click the Update button in the bottom right hand corner of the page. Your changes will then be saved to the Plesk database. Above Up Level on every page, you will see a Log Out button. When you are finished in Plesk, you must exit by clicking this button. Plesk will ask you to confirm that you really want to log out and upon clicking Yes, you will be logged out.
IMPORTANT: If you exit Plesk by closing the browser window, a security measure will kick in that protects your Plesk database connection. You will be unable to log back in to Plesk for 15 minutes if you simply close the browser window.
CLIENT LEVEL

Under the Edit area is where your personal contact details are stored in Plesk. It is very important that you keep your email address up to date under Edit as this is how we will contact you if we have a special need to contact you personally. To update your email address, simply enter it in the correct field and click Update at the bottom. If you have any doubts about changing your email address, please contact support and we will take care of it.

Under Report, you will find many useful statistics pertaining to your account. The main page will give you a summary of what you are using - Company name, Control Panel login name, Creation date, Active domains, Domains, Total traffic, Total disk space, Mail boxes, Mail redirects, Mail groups, Mail autoresponders, Web users, Databases - and you can send those stats to an email address of your choice at any time. The report section has one more area, Traffic History. Under that area, you can review your data transfer usage for all prior months.

If your plan allows you to host more than one domain, you can add more domains by clicking on New Domain. It is normally best to add your domains with the WWW prefix and it will be checked by default. To add a domain with a Domain Template, please read the section below. When creating a subdomain, it is advisable to create without the WWW prefix. Unless your account supports a large amount or unlimited domains, please contact support to add your subdomains.

Under the Preferences section, you will find 3 sub-sections:

Permissions: This page simply tells you the limits or resources allocated to your account. If your account is ever upgraded or downgraded, it is this page that will reflect your new limits. At the very bottom is a field Display [__] lines per page. This controls how many domains you see in your domain list on the mail Client Level page.
Logo Setup: You have the option to brand your Plesk control panel with your own logo. Under Preferences, you will also find a Logo Setup button. Click this and you will find 2 options:
1) "Choose new Logo file" - use this option to upload a logo from your computer.
2) "Enter new Logo link URL" - use this option to link to your logo's location.
Please note that Plesk will resize your logo to 558x81 so making your logo with these dimensions will optimise its appearance. Once you have browsed and selected your logo or entered in a URL, click the Set button and Plesk will display your logo. If at any time you wish to remove your logo, simply click the Default Logo button and it will be removed and replaced by the normal Plesk logo.
Domain Templates: This is a feature that allows you to preconfigure the limits of domain. Primarily for reseller hosts who sell plans with particular disk space, traffic, database limits etc. To add a new Domain Template, click the Add button, giveyour template a name (Gold Plan, Silver Plan etc) and enter and select all the parameters you are going to allocate the account and click Update. Now whenever you add a new domain, you will be able to select your template and all you need to do is enter ftp and plesk access usernames and passwords.
